Our history

Here at Grandi Pastai Italiani, our history stretches back a long way, right to 1961 to be precise, half a century ago, when the first batch of tortellini left what was then a small workshop. The pasta was a success from the word go, and the range soon extended to include other products such as gnocchi; and at the same time, our market spread out all over Italy.
In 1969 we began expanding our business abroad, which gradually led us to export 60% of our total production to 50 countries worldwide, and in 1978 two new factories were built, one for gnocchi and the other for pasta, both with fully automated production lines.

Thanks to the quality of our products and the high degree of customisation we are able to guarantee, together with our efficient services and reliable commercial approach, today Grandi Pastai Italiani partners some of the leading international retail chains, leading companies in the food sector and food service professionals, who know they can rely on our know-how to provide the best possible solutions to whatever needs they may have.
The creation in 2008 of a production line able to produce 8 million kilos of products a year is indicative of our desire to consolidate our position on the market, as well as our optimistic approach to the future, in keeping with the spirit of our mission: to bring our pasta into kitchens all over the world.
